A large and weighty mouth-blown glass table lamp of ‘fazzoletto’ (handkerchief) form, with mottled red and blue glass chip colouring and decorated ‘a scavo’ – in a manner that replicates the ‘excavated’ look of ancient glass through salts and ashes applied during the firing process. The glass was produced in Italy for German lighting firm, Yvolux, in the last quarter of the 20th Century, if not on the island of Murano, then very much using the same long-established techniques.
The lamp takes a single B22 bayonet cap bulb. It has its original wiring and UK 3-pin plug, and works perfectly.
Original label to base.
