It was made on the island of Murano, probably in the mid 1970s, and although it bears close resemblance to lighting by Vetreria Vistoi, its maker is unknown.

The lamp has been rewired with an Italian-made Bakelite E27 Edison Screw bulb-holder and a length of 3-core cable with a vintage style braid with a bold and eyecatching houndstooth design, also made in Italy.
