An unusual and very large polychromatic hand-carved wood folk art sculpture of Frank Lentini, sometimes known as the Three-Legged Football Player, who once a popular sideshow act for the Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey and Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, amongst others. He was recently depicted in the movie musical, The Greatest Showman.
The sculpture dates to around the 1960s-70s, but probably around the time of Lentini's passing (1966), and was carved in Germany.
It is signed 'WH' to the base.
