A very large and eye-catching wall-hanging picture of hand-worked sheet copper depicting a pair of dramatic fighting cocks/roosters, with the copper surface bearing a darkening patina and the cocks’ wattles and cockscombs picked out in red paint. It dates to the 1960s, and was produced in Germany by a company called ‘SB’.
The copper is mounted onto a thick backboard, with a mounted plate for hanging on the wall.
The picture bears its original label in the bottom left corner: Kupferrelief – SB – Handarbeit (Copper Relief – SB – Handmade).
HUGE 1960s Hand-Beaten Polychrome Copper Wall-Hanging Picture of Fighting Cocks
Condition
Generally excellent. Some very small and minor wear to the copper surface and red paint, but displays very well.
