A classic art nouveau plafonnier 'flycatcher' shade attributed to French art glass and lighting firm Jean Noverdy, and dating to the 1920s-30s. It is made of mottled polychrome glass, predominantly green, blue and orange, on a white ground, with a frosted surface for a diffuse spread of light when illuminated. The shade is suspended on three decorative gilt chains, attached to a ceiling rose with a rose motif.
The lamp has been brought up to modern safety standards with a brand new British-made solid patinated brass lamp holder, with a length of premium Italian 3-core able with vintage-style mottled grey linen sheath.
