An understated art deco table lamp (or desk lamp) with chromed metal parts and an iron-weighted wooden base with contrasting mahogany and, possibly, satinwood veneers, French polished to a warm, soft shine. Judging by the old ½” fittings, the lamp is British in origin, and dates to the 1920s or thereabouts.
The lamp has been cleaned and rewired with a brand new British-made chromed brass B22 bayonet cap lamp-holder, a new chromed brass switch, and a generous length of 3-core twisted cable with a style-appropriate brown braided sheath.
