An original antique art nouveau / jugendstil desk lamp with adjustable head, made of what appears to be coppered brass - now with a very rich patina. The lamp dates to c.1920, and is German in origin.
The lamp has a fixed whiplash neck that emerges organically from the base, decorated with a celtic knot / butterfly motif, to an adjustable head with a textured opalescent / vaseline glass shade.
The lamp has been brought up to modern safety standards with a generous length of premium Italian double-insulated three core cable with a vintage-style linen braid in mottled grey, a new patinated brass cord grip, and a modern English-made patinated brass earthed bulb-holder.
The lamp accepts a single B22 bayonet cap bulb.
