A beautifully hand-painted antique or near-antique baluster-form wooden table lamp, decorated with an intricate autumnal chinar tree design highlighted in gold, a typical motif of Kashmiri lacquered goods. The lamp was made in the 1920s-30s for the British market, blending European forms with intricate Indian decoration.
The lamp accepts a single B22 bayonet bulb, and has been cleaned and rewired with an earthed English-made solid brass switched B22 lamp-holder with an Old English patina, and a generous length of premium Italian 3-core double insulated cable with a vintage-look woven mottled grey linen.

Condition
Some signs of small wear and repairs to the paint on close inspection, as you might expect, but otherwise excellent and displays beautifully.
