An original vintage 1986 East German cinema poster for the 1984 Russian children's film 'What Senka Said' (Что у Сеньки было), with artwork by Thomas Schallnau.
The poster was designed for the East German market, via Progress Film-Verleih, the country's sole film distributor during the communist era. Rather than paying for the expensive rights to international posters, Progress commissioned artists to create entirely new posters and allowed broad artistic freedom (and usually great artistic licence when depicting the film's contents).
As such, these unique film posters of the DDR period are incrasingly collected.
These poster were folded from manufacture as standard.
1980s Communist Soviet / East German DDR Cinema / Film Poster
Condition
Generally in good condition. It has been stored flat for some time, so the original folds are lessened. Some wear to the edges of the poster.
