A rare original vintage theatre poster for Hans Neuenfels' 1976 production of Euripides' 'Medea', which incorporated shocking themes, imagery and swearing, and proved highly controversial - a clasic German 'Theaterskandal' - when it premiered at the the Schauspiel Frankfurt.
"The performance is senseless, disgusting - actually disgusting" wrote the press, so obviously it was a huge success, with large queues at the box office most nights.
The poster is simple, bold and makes good use of typography - and a line from the play, 'I, poor sow.'

Condition
Small crumpling to the edge of the poster. Otherwise, generally excellent.
