A very large, very heavy and very scarce ‘Embassy’ series pendant lamp with brass fittings and six very thick ‘double corrugated’ lead crystal glass shade segments made of cast lead crystal, textured on both side to diffuse the light. It was designed c.1968 by Carl Fagerlund for Swedish glassworks, Orrefors.
We acquired this lamp in Denmark, where it was distributed by Lyfa Belysning, and features in their 1972 trade catalogue – see last image (this lamp is the smallest of the series, and never featured the illustrated ‘crown’ shade for additional bulbs).
The lamp accepts x4 E27 bulbs. It will need rewiring before installation.

Condition
The original brass lacquer has largely worn away, but this is not visible from any angle when installed except on the retaining disc to the underside of the lamp. Some tiny nibbles to the edges of the glass shades but, again, not visible when installed.
