A large (but not too large) industrial (but not too industrial) factory pendant lamp of white enamelled steel with original mouth-blown opaline glass diffuser, accented with patinated brass thumbscrews and waxed bare metal fittings, made in the 1950s by British lighting firm, Thorlux.
A good size for domestic use, the metal shade promotes a strong down-light and the opal-white glass inner-shade ensures an even and glare-free spread of light, making it ideal for use in most rooms as a general lamp, but especially hung a little above eye-level over dining tables and work/preparation areas.
The lamp has been entirely dismantled, cleaned, and rebuilt, with brand new premium Italian double insulated 3-core cable sheathed in a decorative and resilient mottled grey braid of woven linen.
The lamp accepts a single E27 Edison screw bulb.
