An original ink and watercolour perspective sketch by Douglas Black, whilst he was studying at the Manchester Regional College of Art's School of Architecture in the early 1950s. It shows a new, modern corner office building.
Douglas Black would go on to have a 40+ year career as an architectural draughtsman, working on many civic projects in Manchester, Poole, Northamptonshire and South Yorkshire. We acquired many examples of his work from his estate after he passed away, from his student years through to his retirement in the 1980s.
The drawing is marked with the date (October 1952), and Black's signature.

Condition
This was a working drawing, and, as you'd expect, is not in perfect condition. It has some discolouration from age, and minor wear from handling, which adds to the character and authenticity. In generally excellent condition otherwise.
