A small but fantastic globe shaped lamp with a stepped bronze gallery and a mouth-blown white opaline glass shade, decorated all over with rings of hand-painted flowers and random leaves in vibrant colours. Painted by an amateur hand, rather than in a factory, the decoration is simple, charming and really very nicely preserved, dating as it will to the 1930s. It is English in origin.
The lamps has been carefully cleaned and rewired with a brand new British-made earthed B22 bayonet cap lampholder with a generous length of premium Italian vintage-style 3-core double insulated twisted cable with a white Rayon braid, in-keeping with the period of the lamp.
The gallery is stamped ‘Made In England’.
